Having seen about four previous InCharacter costumes over the years, I have always been highly impressed with their quality. Yes, the costume costs more, but it appeared to be worth it. Given that experience, I decided that this year, I too would shell out the extra money and get this costume. I was extremely disappointed in what I received. While previous costumes I had seen used nice fabrics like lace, crushed velvet, etc, this costume is made entirely out of 100% polyester. It was barely above the quality of a costume I purchased a couple of years ago for $45.Another issue with the costume is the holes cut in the fabric to simulate decay. Whomever cut the holes in mine went a little crazy and there's a big hole right in the front of the vest. Now normally this wouldn't be an issue, but the "shirt" and scarf are just a dicky, not an entire garment. The long hole in the vest allows anyone looking at you to see the bottom of the dicky, stitching, and your undershirt. So now, even though I've already spent a bunch of money, I have to look and try to find some type of victorian shirt to wear under my costume and figure out how to make that work with the dicky or just replace it entirely.The hat is nothing more than polyester wrapped around some foam and then attached to a wire brim. Having been crushed flat in the package, it'll definitely take some work and maybe a warm iron to get the wrinkles out.I'm extremely surprised by this quality from what has previously been a reputable company. I was hoping for something more than a cheap polyester costume with my extra money and I don't think throwing in a cheap wig and pair of gloves justifies the higher price. I could have spent the same amount on some real clothes and made my own costume. Were it not so close to Halloween, I would most definitely be returning this one to the store.
